Following a sell-out event in 2011, the Royal Aeronautical Society’s Aero Pub Quiz returned for its 3rd year on 18th October 2012, to see 13 teams competing for the top place prizes of iPod Shuffles courtesy of Green Spark Electrics and afternoon tea for two courtesy of Chesterfield Mayfair.

Day 3 (16th July) of the Icarus Cup at Lasham Gliding Club and at the 0500 briefing it was decided that there would be no flying today due to strong south westerly winds, gusting at up to 18 knots, and light showers.

The RAeS Human Powered Aircraft Group are holding the Icarus Cup at Lasham Gliding Club from Saturday 14th to Sunday 22nd July 2012, and will be flying between the hours of 0530 and 0900. The competition will test the pilots’ endurance, flight accuracy skills and technical ability.

RAeS Receives Paper Round Award for Recycling
The Royal Aeronautical Society recycled 7520 kg of paper between March 2011 and February 2012, saving the equivalent of 98 trees and 10500kg of CO2. Thank you to all staff and members for your significant contribution towards helping the environment. Keep up the good work!
