Air Law Summer Reception

The Royal Aeronautical Society Annual Air Law Group Committee’s Annual Summer Reception is scheduled to take place at 19.00 on Monday 9 July 2012.

The Committee feels that this annual event gives past conference delegates and members of the Society with an interest in air law, the opportunity to meet each other in an informal social setting whilst enjoying refreshments and canapés.

The reception will be preceded at 18.00 by a lecture delivered by Professor Brian F. Havel, Keeley Visiting Fellow, Wadham College, University of Oxford; Distinguished Research Professor of Law and Director, International Aviation Law Institute, DePaul University College of Law, Chicago, USA.

Professor Havel’s lecture will be titled Is It All Just Politics: The ETS Controversy, the Rise of Unilateralism and the Future of International Aviation Law’. Professor Havel will discuss how, ironically in an era of increased airline liberalisation, the legal agreements, informal standards and international bodies that coordinate transnational activity in the aviation sector may be inadequate for a world with many more influential State and industry players and increasingly unilateral priorities for aviation policy.

PROGRAMME
Lecture: 6.00pm – Free to Attend (RSVP is appreciated)
Reception: 7.00pm – Please visit the event page for further details and registration options.

The Air Law Summer Reception will follow this lecture with tickets available to purchase by visiting the Society website or by contacting the Conference team on +44(0)20 7670 4345 or conference@aerosociety.com
