March sees two Cool Aeronautics events, including our first in Wales. The Cool Aeronautics event, aimed at 8-10 year olds will be in Swansea on the 16th of March and in London on the 23rd or March. Schools from the surrounding areas will be attending to see speakers such as RAF and British Airways pilots, Aerospace Engineers such as Liverpool University’s Emma Timson and Cardiff University’s Bethan Kenward (a Royal Aeronautical Society Speakers’ Travel Grant winner), Space scientists from Astrium and ESERO.
The day kicks off with talks from the expert speakers and then, after lunch, pupils take part in workshops and activities. Cool Aeronautics serves to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and Aerospace careers as well as give teachers a better understanding of what the aerospace industry is all about.
