American firm TTE has agreed to purchase ten Russian-built Beriev Be-200 amphibian aircraft for lease in a fire-fighting ‘air tanker’ role.
The breakthrough contract was awarded following months of trials for the US Interagency Air Tanker Board. Beriev is the world’s only manufacturer of large amphibious jet aircraft.
