Low-cost carrier easyJet has announced plans to close its Madrid base from winter 2012/13.
The airline has cited overcapacity and high airport charges behind its decision to close the Spanish base. easyJet will continue to serve the Spanish city from other cities. The airline is said to be reviewing options for its eight aircraft and 310 crew based at Madrid.
