The Netherlands Ministry of Defence is urging the country’s government to change its procurement plans for CH-47 Chinook transport helicopters.
The Netherlands currently plans to upgrade its existing fleet of 11 CH-47Ds to CH-47F standard and has six new CH-47s on order. However, Netherlands Defence Minister Hans Hillen is campaigning to replace the entire fleet with CH-47Fs which will last ten years longer than the refurbished versions.
