GE Aviation is to ‘freeze’ the design of its Passport 20 turbofan engine for the Global 7000 and 8000 long range business jets due to enter service in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
The engine manufacturer plans to start construction of eight Passport 20 test engines for certification in 2015.
