A Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 three hours into a flight to Frankfurt was forced to turn back on 28 March after the flight crew reported a surge in one of the four Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines.
The engine was shut down and flight SQ26 returned to Singapore using three engines. The cause of the incident is being investigated.
