India is considering developing an indigenous regional jet as part of efforts to develop its aircraft manufacturing capability.
State-owned National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) is reported to be in talks with Mahindra & Mahindra (MM) and Taneja Aerospace & Aviation (TAA). NAL announced plans in February 2011 to develop a 90-seat Indian regional jet within six years.
